Student Life

Air Seychelles, Air France, British Airways,Air Mauritius and Kenya Airways all provide air service to Seychelles. Although there are no visa requirements, to enter the country, students should bring a valid passport, a return ticket and a copy of an updated immunization certificate when entering the country. All students have to arrange the required admission formalities with the university to get the acceptance letter and the university will apply for the resident visa for the new student.

Accommodations

Seychelles offers a variety of accommodations, from international, resort and medium-size hotels with all facilities to guest houses, lodges, and chalets on the smaller islands.

Outside the campus there are take-away shops, which provide quality lunch packets. In more expensive restaurants the Seychelles culinary arts have evolved to produce flavors pleasing to both basic and sophisticated tastes. Fish is plentiful, varieties are abundant and it is always an excellent menu selection.

Sports facilities in and around the campus are abundant, for tennis, snorkeling, football, volleyball, basketball, athletics, badminton, etc, free for students. In the island full scale of water sports like scuba diving, speedboat, jet skiing, paragliding, water-skiing etc. are available.

Clothes

Very casual. For men, shorts and t-shirts during the day, and slacks for the evening, jackets and ties are rarely worn. For women, cotton wrap-around or shorts for daytime and cool dresses for evening wear.

Dress Code for Students Shorts, tracksuits, miniskirts, and flip-flops are not allowed. Avoid showing midriffs, shoulders, and cleavage.

Healthcare

Efficient healthcare facilities are easily available. Within the Campus every member of the academic staff is available to advise students on any matter directly or indirectly related to studies, and professional counseling is also available.

Communication

Students are advised to carry their own Mobile Phone sets. The mobile phone charges are only slightly different between the local phone providers, which are offering roaming facilities too. Seychelles is well connected globally and the postal organizations provide reliable services. International Courier services DHL, UPS and FEDEX have offices in Victoria.

Transportation

The Seychelles Public Transport Corporation, (SPTC) offers excellent bus services in the Island. The buses frequently run -almost every 15 minutes - from University campus through Victoria to all places within the Island. Buses start running from 5.30 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. everyday. Local Taxis are available everywhere but expensive.
